“Talking Weeds” an artwork for the French School in Singapore

In January 2015, I was invited by the LFS or French School in Singapore’s Art Lecturer  Sharon Feenan to work with the “4èmes” (Gr. 8) students. I had proposed to introduce the kids to my way of mixing art and science and we worked on a project which is now part of the larger “Weeding Singapore” project. The students reflected on the possibility that plants might have feelings and specifically that the weeds found on the school grounds might have something to say. The result was an installation comprising over 120 engraved plates, which move and light up as the public interact with the live plants installation Below are some of the pictures from the 3-weeks project, which culminated in a one-week long installation in the hall of the school.
